Vineyard Notes
Our ‘Coriol’ red blend, containing 38% Grenache, 27% Mourvèdre, 25% Petite Sirah, and 10% Counoise, is our signature red- combining the luscious California fruit and the great tradition of French Rhone blends, such as Chateauneuf-du- Pape. Our Grenache is sourced from our prized Rhone-varietal vineyard, Landa Vineyards, tucked in the shadows of the southeastern mountains that shape the Sonoma Valley. Our Petite Sirah, Mourvèdre, and Counoise come from the opposite end of the Sonoma valley where days are cooler and the growing season is longer for these finicky varietals. These meticulously farmed grapes are a result of the collaboration of the knowledge and experience from our winemaker, consulting viticulturist, and quality driven farmers.

Winemaking Notes
This fruit was hand harvested early in the morning to ensure the coldest juice possible and came into the winery in exceptional condition. Then we hand sorted, de-stemmed and the fruit was put into one-ton bins. After fermentation was completed, we avoided harsh and green tannins by using a basket press which prevents skins and seeds from being crushed. The juice then underwent complete malolactic fermentation. Our finished wine was transferred to French oak barrels, 50% new, where it aged for 21 months before being bottled

Tasting Notes
Our medium- to full-bodied red Rhône blend has savory aromas of pepper, geranium, cassis, and cherry jam. Plum and blackberry fruit lead to long finish of pepper and silky tannins. Our crisp and fresh ‘Coriol’ Red is an ideal companion for food.
