Fallen golden apple, lemon curd, and vanilla envelop the nose. On the palate, subtle baking spices, pear, and creme brulee. This wine is textured and vibrant, rounded out with well-integrated oak. Pair this wine with clams, scalloped potatoes, or a brunch out on the patio.
The 2018 vintage was slow and steady, which allowed the fruit to gradually ripen, holding its acid and allowing it to develop complexity on the vine. The majority of the fruit was picked between mid-September and mid-October, with generous yet balanced yields.
We are so proud of our sustainability-farmed estate vineyard, JMcK. Planted with Wente clone Chardonnay, this vineyard is named after Anaba proprietor John’s two children, John Michael and McKenna. The cooling influence of the anabatic winds warrants the grapes a longer hang time during the growing season. This allows the fruit to slowly develop intense flavors while adding just the right touch of lushness to the final wine.
