2019 Viognier, Landa Vineyard
Our Viognier comes from the Landa Vineyard located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains in the Sonoma Valley Appellation just a mile east of the Sonoma Plaza. This site consistently produces high quality Viognier grapes. Known for their floral aromas, flint and citrus-like flavors, these grapes also lend a fleshy, rich texture to the wine.
The 2019 vintage was the first in our new winery which opened in January and was marked by heavy rains and stable summer temperatures. Thankfully, we had already picked all of our fruit before the Kincade Fire started, and we had back-up power for the winery.
Immediately the nose is pleasantly greeted by delicate aromatics of peach and apple blossom that open up to notes of white strawberry and pink grapefruit. Refreshing flavors of apricot skin and melon lead to an acid-driven structure that flows through to a lingering finish.
