2021 Pinot Noir, Sangiacomo Roberts Road – Magnum

From Sonoma’s long-respected family growers comes the fruit for our Sangiacomo Roberts Road Vineyard Pinot Noir. Planted in 1999, Roberts Road Vineyard lies in the newly designated (2017) but long revered Petaluma Gap AVA. For nearly half the day, the vineyard is shrouded in fog and influenced by coastal breezes, lending to slow, even growing, and fruit development. The block of Pinot Noir for this bottling is in the flat land at the base of Sonoma Mountain (on the western side) and features well-draining, silty gravel soils.

We are delighted to work with the Sangiacomo Family, third-generation farmers from Sonoma Valley, to source fruit from their prestigious Roberts Road Vineyard for this Pinot Noir. Located at the base of Sonoma Mountain at the far northern edge of the Petaluma Gap, the Roberts Road Vineyard experiences long, slow, and even growing seasons, perfect for a Burgundian-style Pinot Noir – rich yet delicate.
