From the windswept slopes of Wildcat Mountain, these vines yield a Pinot Noir that balances high-elevation intensity with refined elegance. A nose of forest floor and warm earth leads into a bright palate of strawberry and dark cherry, rounded out by toasty notes of vanilla, clove, and cedar. The finish is mouth filling and silky, carrying the ripe, juicy fruit and savory spice all the way through.
About this wine
The 2022 Pinot Noir Wildcat Mountain Vineyard captures all the ruggedness of this hillside site. Graphite, incense, licorice, dried flowers, mint, tobacco, incense and orange peel are some of the many notes that open in the glass. Sourced from the high-elevation Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, this Pinot Noir offers a complex nose that grows increasingly savory as it opens. The palate delivers a core of ripe red fruit framed by rich, supple tannins and a toasty influence from the 40% new French oak. There’s a notable influence of barrel spice for those who enjoy a toasty style, while the elevated site ensures the fruit remains beautifully balanced and persistent.
The 2022 season featured a mild summer that allowed for steady ripening and excellent flavor development. A warm late-season stretch provided an ideal boost in concentration, resulting in fruit with wonderful density and a perfect balance of brightness and rich texture.
