2023 La Colline Proprietary Red Rhône Blend

Club Exclusive!

La Colline is a cornerstone of Anaba’s founding vision. The 2023 vintage brings together vibrant red fruit, savory complexity and a touch of peppery spice. A structured, polished red, it balances firm tannins with beautifully integrated oak, creating depth and a lingering finish. Its structure and balance make it a compelling candidate for further aging in the cellar.

About this wine

La Colline, meaning “the hillside,” grew from owner John Sweazey’s long-held vision, sparked by a visit to France’s Northern Rhône Valley in the 1970s. There, a visit with winemaker Max Chapoutier overlooking the Rhône River inspired John to create a serious, high-quality Rhône-style blend in California, rooted in the region’s spirit of family and hospitality. When winemaker Katy Wilson joined Anaba in 2014, the two began exploring how to bring that vision to life. After years of searching for the right vineyards, Katy sourced fruit from three distinct Sonoma mountain vineyards to craft this distinctive blend. The 2023 blend of 50% Syrah, 25% Mourvèdre and 25% Grenache was aged for 22 months in French oak, bringing together Sonoma’s character and the enduring influence of the Northern Rhône.
