The 2023 Teldeschi Vineyard Petite Sirah is packed with blueberry, plum and dark cocoa, followed by black cherry, layered spice and black tea. Vinous calls it “delicious” and “super drinkable,” and we couldn’t agree more. Bold tannins and savory oak bring depth, with plenty of potential to develop in the cellar.
About this wine
Ray Teldeschi was born and raised on the Home Ranch, giving him a lifelong connection to this Dry Creek Valley vineyard and an intimate understanding of its fruit. The 2023 growing season brought a wet winter and a mild summer, allowing the grapes to ripen gradually. The resulting Petite Sirah captures the site’s character with deep dark fruit, layered spice and the firm tannins that give the wine its structure and aging potential. It’s another fantastic vintage from this storied vineyard.
The 2023 Petite Sirah Teldeschi Vineyard Home Ranch is delicious. Katy Wilson did a terrific job in taming some of the natural richness of this site through her more restrained approach. This is super drinkable today but should also develop nicely in the cellar. ~ Billy Norris, Vinous
