The nose opens with an aromatic lift of kaffir lime and zesty citrus, layered with subtle hints of melon. On the palate, a bright core of mandarin and tart green apple is driven by that unmistakable, lip-stinging acidity. A touch of saline minerality carries through to a crisp, focused finish that is both incredibly fresh and mouthwatering. This vintage absolutely lives up to its reputation!
We first made Picpoul Blanc as a standalone bottling in 2015, recognizing its potential to produce a unique and absolutely delicious, mouthwatering wine. While it is a staple in our Turbine White blend each year, the 2025 release presents a pure and brilliant expression of this captivating Rhône variety. This vintage features a seamless blend of fruit from our estate vineyard alongside grapes from the neighboring Drennan Family Vineyard, located just three miles down the road.
The 2025 growing season was defined by a steady, mild summer that allowed for slow ripening and the retention of electric natural acidity. The nose is highly perfumed, offering a bouquet of citrus blossom and kaffir lime zest anchored by a faint tropical melon undertone. On the palate, the wine is precise and lean, trading the “punch” of warmer years for a graceful stream of tart mandarin and green apple. A persistent stony minerality provides a savory counterpoint to the fruit, leading into a bone-dry finish that stays true to its “lip-stinger” roots.
“Their Picpoul is as fine an example of the grape that I’ve ever had from California—fresh, bright, saline, and delicious.”
