2018 Turbine Red, Rhône Blend

The Turbine Red is Anaba’s take on a Rhone-style blend. This wine is one of our Wine Club exclusive wines and one of our most requested year after year.

The Wine

The Turbine Red is Anaba’s take on a Rhone-style blend. Following the winemaking traditions of the Rhone Valley, we blend a variety of red Rhone grapes resulting in a textured, complex, compelling red wine blend.

A blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Petite Sirahcomprise the 2018 Turbine Red Blend. We source the fruit for this blend from the Landa Vineyard.

This wine is one of our Wine Club exclusive wines and one of our most requested year after year. Star anise, baking spices, dark fruit, tobacco leaf, dried figs, and plum are found on the nose of this wine. On the palate, savory notes of Spanish olives, balsamic vinaigrette, and dried herbs are balanced by licorice and dark fruits. This wine has a chewy, lingering finish. Pairs well with BBQ chicken pizza, grilled steak, or a feisty game night.

With the opening of their new winery and Vintners House, Wine Country visitors have a compelling reason to stop and explore Anaba’s Rhone-style wines and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines which are in fact, excellent.

The Vineyard

The grapes for this wine are sourced from Landa Vineyard, located in the low eastern foothills of the Mayacamas, tucked away just one mile from the town square in Sonoma. This site experiences warm days, and is protected from winds. This, combined with the cool valley nights, makes the vineyard ideal for slow, even ripening.
