2019 Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast, WestLands

The nose offers a refreshing blend of lemon zest and honeydew. On the palate, it’s bright and racy with hints of pear and fresh melon coming through. The experience concludes with a long and lingering acidity complemented by subtle tannins. Our most Burgundian of wines!

Winemaker’s Notes

WestLands Chardonnay is our nod to capturing the essence of the West Sonoma Coast. It is barrel-selected from our favorite vineyards west of Sebastopol. All the vineyards used for this wine are in close proximity to each other and are within 10 miles of the Pacific Ocean.

The 2019 vintage was an excellent one — well-balanced with yields due to a heat spike later in the season.

“Floral, light and lovely, this coastal wine is crowd-pleasing and brimming in stone fruit, apple peel and dried herb. Well-integrated oak and balanced weight keeps it fresh and lively, finishing in fennel and celery root.” Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast

The 2019 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is softly perfumed, with wafts of quince, green pear, baker's yeast, cashew and Greek yogurt. The light-bodied palate offers intense, perfumed fruits and a compelling textural presence, opening to more savory, honeyed tones on the long finish.
